The absence of an “air gap” between a campus’ IT systems and operational technology (OT) poses obvious security issues. An attack on the Building Automation Systems (“BAS”) could easily spread to the campus IT network, or vice versa. Additionally, the need to provide network access for 3rd party BAS service providers increases the size of the attack surface and, in conjunction, risk. Learn how software-defined segmentation can be utilized to address both areas of concern easily and effectively with zero changes to the underlying network and infrastructure.
